Ops, we did it again! We won, for the second time in a row, the 1001VelaCup regatta!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regatta<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The week starts pretty well, with the first place at Paolo Padova Trophy (student & professor crew), with Professor Rodolfo Taccani and Matija Succi (Naval Architecture). Second place for Karlsruhe University (Prof. Bellalouna) and third place for Padova (Prof. Lazzaretto).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dedalo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Then Bai- Lina Rossa, our latest craft, was simply astonishing, winning 6 out of 8 races. The boat was crewed by Andrea<\/strong> Parmegiani <\/strong>and Francesco Ripandelli<\/strong>, both students in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering. Dedalo, our wooden skiff and last year champion, follows with a solid second place: on board, the skipper Petra Gregori (Economics) and Giovanni Sandrini (Nav Arch & Marine Eng). Last but not least our boat Lina, fixed by the shore team few hours before the first race, delivers an extraordinary 4th place, only 3 points away from the podium and from Calypso by Polito Sailing Team. Cheers to the skipper Stefania Padoan (Medicine & Surgery) and to the crew Samuel Sacco (Interpreter School SSLIMIT)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The design competition:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Units wins also the design competition: Bai-Lina Rossa is evaluated as the best design concept by a jury of experts, and Dedalo runs up gaining the second prize. Third place for Atena, University of Padova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
